About & Contact
I have over 25 years experience of working as a therapist with people experiencing a wide range of mental health and emotional issues and designing and facilitating training and group work to clients, clinicians and professionals. I have worked in a variety of NHS settings including; inpatient units, community mental health teams, GP practices, a psychological therapy unit, and between 2005 and 2010 created and delivered a mental health service for students within a university student services department. I founded Catalyst East Anglia and my Private Practice in 2010.
In all I do, I try to help people reconnect with their innate goodness and worth and capacity for moments of joy, calm and meaning. Often these qualities and experiences have been eclipsed or trodden down through having to learn to develop survival patterns and to be on "autopilot" in an attempt to protect us from "life" and all it's harsh realities. Sometimes, this leaves us feeling as if we have limited choices in the way we feel, think and act. I believe there can be hope and we can find new strenghts and resources and make different choices, but sometimes to do this, we need a safe and caring place with another to let this truth be explored and trusted.
I am a qualified and state registered occupational therapist registered with the Health Professions Council www.hpc-org.uk and British Association of Occupational Therapists www.cot.co.uk, a Cognitive Analytic Therapist registered with the Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapists www.acat.me.uk , an NLP Wellbeing Coach Practitioner and I have completed the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Teacher training (TTR1 &TTR2) course with Mindful Academy,http://mbsr.website
